Yes, installing Brickwebb on a cinderblock wall is easy to do.
Materials Needed:
- Modified thin-set adhesive (such as a polymer-fortified thin-set)
- 3/8” notched trowel
- Brickwebb sheets
- Grout (Type S mortar or sanded tile grout)
- Grout bag or tile grout float
- Masonry sealer (optional)
- Sponge and water for cleanup
Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Surface:
- Ensure the cinder block wall is clean, dry, and free of debris or loose material.
- If the surface is painted or sealed, scuff it up with a wire brush or grinder to create better adhesion.
- Apply Thin-Set Adhesive:
- Use a polymer-modified thin-set suitable for exterior masonry.
- Apply with a 3/8” notched trowel in small sections (to prevent drying before placing bricks).
- Install Brickwebb Sheets:
- Start with corner sheets first, then work inward with flat sheets.
- Press each sheet firmly into the adhesive, ensuring good contact between the brick and wall.
- Overlap the mesh backing for seamless spacing.
- Allow to Set:
- Let the adhesive cure for 24 hours before applying grout.
- Apply Grout:
- Use a grout bag or tile float to fill the joints.
- Once the grout is stiff but not fully dry, use a joint tool or sponge to smooth the grout lines.
- Finishing Touches:
- Once fully cured, consider applying a masonry sealer to enhance durability and protect against moisture.
